The Floods in Britain July 2007

My first post on this blog since 19 July mainly due to the floods in the UK, which fortunately for me did not come in through the front door, although my neighbours were not so lucky, there doorstep was not as high as mine.

So here are a few pictures of the event. If you have been following the news in England you will know that large parts of the west of the country were surrounded by water and some people had there living rooms under

water for around a week. Even now there are thousands of people in Gloucester, and Tewkesbury without drinking water. Water is being provided in bottles by the government or in tankers or 'bowsers' on the streets.

For some reason people treated the floods as some sort of tourist attraction, or a day at the seaside, which would be fine except that the water was full of sewage and bacteria. This didn't prevent kids from playing in it and even adults taking their kids paddling in it. Strange behaviour !
