43% Rise in Top Domain Name Prices

Make Money Online - Domain Name Prices Rise by Over 43% in One Year

One way to make money online is by investing in domain names, see my previous post - Record Domain Name Prices . Having just had a close look at the top 100 domain name sales for 2007 compared to the top 100 for 2006, I have calculated that the total price paid for the top 100 domain names in 2007 was $42,682,500, this compares with a total for the 2006 top 100 of $29,750,000 (all figures from DNJournal.com with thanks).

This works out to an average price for 2007 of $426,825 per domain compared with $297,750 for 2006. Remember this is the top 100 we are talking about. This represents an increase of 43.3% in prices and this increase shows no sign of slowing any time soon.

Of course not everybody can afford to pay top prices for domain names, but most people can afford to start at the bottom and work their way up. You can buy domain names from $4 upwards, and sometimes even cheaper, which can then be 'parked' with companies like Namedrive to bring in some revenue from ads. For more information about parking domain names see my previous post - Record Domain Name Prices.
